As you start to get excited and plan you weekend at Unity Fest you will most likely have a few questions you would like to ask?

 

We hope that you will find the answers below useful and helpful. However, if you can't find what you are looking for then please don't hesitate to contact us.

Who can go to Unity Fest / Can I bring a friend or family member?

Although unity Fest is a lesbian centric festival, we are inclusive of, bi, trans, queer women and those who are non-binary. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member as long as they fully support LBT women.

 

Are children allowed?

After careful consideration, we've made the decision that Unity Fest will be an 18+ event.

Our focus is on creating the very best experience possible for our adult attendees. By making Unity Fest an adults-only event, we can dedicate all of our time, energy and resources to delivering an unforgettable festival without the additional safeguarding, facilities and entertainment requirements that come with accommodating under 18s.

We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to welcome you to Unity Fest.

Are dogs allowed?​

We're pleased to confirm that dogs are welcome at Unity Fest and are permitted throughout the outdoor festival site and camping areas.

However, dogs must not be taken into any buildings at any time. This includes:

  • The Main Venue

  • All indoor workshop spaces

  • Shower and toilet facilities

  • Any other enclosed buildings on site

To help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend, we ask that:

  • Dogs are kept on leads at all times.

  • Owners use their judgement regarding noise levels, crowds and their dog's welfare.

  • The designated dog toilet area is used, and all waste is bagged and disposed of responsibly.

  • Only well-socialised, friendly dogs that are comfortable in busy environments are brought to the festival.

Unity Fest is a shared space. While many of us love having our four-legged companions with us, we also want to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all attendees. Thank you for helping us make the festival a great experience for everyone.

Is there a payment plan or a way to spread the cost?

Yes. We offer a payment plan that allows you to make an initial payment of 10%, followed by nine monthly payments.

Payment 8 - Taken on  April 10, 2027

Payment 9 - Taken on  May 10, 2027

Is the venue/site accessible. Is there an accessible camping area?

We're committed to making Unity Fest as accessible and inclusive as possible for everyone attending.

Our facilities include:

  • Accessible toilets, showers and bathroom facilities.

  • ramped access to main buildings/venues.

  • A network of tarmac roads, making it easier to move around the festival site.

  • A designated accessible area, where we'll aim to park eligible guests as close to the main festival hub as possible.

If you have any accessibility requirements or would like to discuss how we can support you during the festival, please don't hesitate to get in touch before purchasing your weekend wristband.

Once you have booked, please contact us with proof of eligibility, along with details of any assistance you require, by emailing info@unityfest.co.uk. This allows us to ensure everything is in place before you arrive.

 

Will there be any seating available at the festival?

No, please bring your own seating/camping chairs with you. However, some seating will be available at the on-site catering outlets.

 

Can we buy food/drinks?

Catering outlets and bars are available and serving a variety of foods and drinks for purchase.

 

Can we bring our own alcohol?

Yes, you can. You're welcome to bring your own alcohol to Unity Fest for your personal enjoyment throughout the weekend.

Please note that Unity Fest operates a strict no-glass policy. If you're bringing your own drinks, please ensure they are in cans or plastic containers.

If you'd rather not bring your own, we also have fully stocked, licensed bars serving a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at reasonable prices throughout the weekend.

Please drink responsibly and be considerate of your fellow festival-goers to help keep Unity Fest a safe, friendly and enjoyable event for everyone.

Can we have fire pits, camp fires, and barbecues?

No fire pits or camp fires are allowed. All cooking units must be off the grass/ground.

 

I can no longer attend / Can you refund my wristband / Can I sell my wristband?

Sorry you cannot make it - unfortunately, we cannot refund your wristband. You are welcome to sell it on yourself providing you sell it on to a like-minded member or ally of our community. Please see our refund/cancellation policy within our Terms & Conditions.

 

What happens if the festival is cancelled due to Covid-19?

If the festival is unable to go ahead beyond the organisers control for such reasons as Covid-19, national mourning, acts of god, or if the organiser has to cancel for whatever reason, then wristbands will automatically be carried forward to 2028. If you do not wish for your wristband to be forwarded to 2028 then please email us at Unity Fest within 30 days of the date of cancellation and we will issue a refund. Please note that all refunds will be subject to a £10 administration fee and any card/booking fees will not be refunded.

 

I will be attending on my own and I’m very nervous.

It is quite natural to feel this, we have all been there, but I can assure you that you will be welcomed with open arms and made feel right at home at Unity Fest. We are anticipating many people being on their own so you will not be the only one. Remember, the creators of Unity Fest are known as the UK’s friendliest Lesbian, Bi & Transgender group.

 

What happens if I need and assistance, have a question, feel ill or misplace something at Unity Fest?

We will have an information and first aid point that will also act as a lost property. Here you will find crew members and volunteers ready and able to assist you with your needs and requirements. Throughout the weekend our crew members and volunteers will be easily recognisable in high visibility vests. They will also be camping and socialising amongst all festival goers and are always on hand to help and support you.

 

Can I park/camp next to my friend?

Whilst our crew and volunteers will do a fantastic job of parking you all we cannot save spaces for friends, so please try to arrive together to make it easier for us. We will all be in the same main camping field.

 

Is there an age limit?

Whilst Unity Fest is an 18+ festival we have no upper limit on age. Whether you are a 'flirty thirty' or a fun loving 'golden oldie' you are guaranteed to fit in, be accepted, and have a fantastic weekend at Unity Fest.

 

I don't camp and don't have any camping equipment.

Whilst Unity Fest is predominantly a camping-based festival and includes free camping for tents, camper vans, caravans and motorhomes, we have partnered up with The Glamping Group who will be offering a huge variety of bell tents and packages available for up to 2, 3 or 4 people with various prices depending on if you want a Basic, Pro or Luxury bell tent. Unfortunately, electric hook-up is not available for Bell Tent bookings.

There are also many local hotels and B&B's in the area for you to arrange your own accommodation outside of the festival. Please note that if you are staying in a glamping bell tent or staying off site in your own arranged accommodation that a festival weekend wristband is still required to be purchased separately.

Where can I stay locally?

If you don't wish to camp on site, there are plenty of hotels, B&Bs, guest houses, holiday cottages and self-catering accommodation available in and around Shrewsbury, all within a short drive of West Mid Showground.

We recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible, as availability can become limited during busy periods.

What time do the gates open / When can I arrive?

• The gates will open at 12 noon on Friday 9th July, 2027.

• Please do not arrive before this time as there will be no access granted.

• The site must be vacated by 11am on Monday 12th July, 2027. 

PLEASE NOTE: The gates will be locked each evening at 10pm so you must arrive before then.

 

Where can I find out who's performing and what's going on at the festival?

Check out our What's On section. You will also be handed a full festival timetable on arrival.

 

Can we party through the night?

All programmed entertainment will finish by midnight each evening.

We kindly ask that all amplified music, speakers and excessive noise from campers also stops at midnight so everyone has the opportunity to get some rest. Acoustic guitars and quiet singalongs are, of course, part of the festival atmosphere, but please be respectful of your camping neighbours and keep noise to a considerate level.

 

Is there somewhere I can get access to a power supply?

Yes, we have a limited number of electric hook-up (EHU) pitches available on site.

EHU can be added to your booking when purchasing your weekend festival wristbands and is allocated on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability.

Please note that you only need to purchase one EHU per camping pitch, not one per person attending.

Unfortunately, electric hook-up is not available for Bell Tent bookings.

 

Will there be access to showers and toilets?

Yes. there are fixed showers and flushing toilets throughout the site.

 

Is there a cash machine (ATM) / Do you take card?

There is no cash machine (ATM) on-site. The festivals bars and catering outlets do accept cards, as might some of the vendors/stalls. Some stalls and vendors are cash only though, so please do bring cash with you also.
